Day 1 (Pergamum, Thyatira, Smyrna)
Our first day of the tour starts with us picking you up from your hotel or from Izmir Airport. After our tour guide gives us some information about our four day ahead, we are heading to Pergamum. In Pergamum we are visiting the Acropolis, the Altar of Zeus, the Asklepion that has been the medical center of the area in ancient times and the Red Basilica that is also known as the St John’s Church who had been an important religious figure at the time.
We are then heading to Thyatira (currently named as Akhisar) to see the remainings of a basilica and many more architectural landmarks of Roman legacy. We are enjoying a delicious lunch before heading to our next stop.
On our drive to Izmir, we will enjoy the great news of Smyrna that is known as one of the sites of Seven Churches of Asia Minor.
They are spending the night at a nice hotel in Izmir.
Day 2 (Izmir, Sardis, Philadelphia, Laodicea, Hierapolis )
On our second day we are checking out from our hotel early after a good breakfast. Today we are visiting Sardis where we will have the chance one of great examples of a temple which became a Byzantine Church later. We will also stop ay at the restored gymnasium and the Synagogue.
Then we are heading Philadelphia. Here we will see the ruins of a Byzantine basilica that was once a great architectural structure built of bricks, with a bit of high arch and some 11th-century frescoes. We are having a lunch break before heading to our next location.
Our next stop is the ancient city of Hierapolis where hot mineral water bursts from the earth and cascades over steep cliffs forming pools. Here we will have the chance to visit the Martyrium of the Saint Philip who is known of as one of the apostles of Jesus
Our last stop on Day 2 is Laodicea, where we will wander around the ancient streets and see the ancient structures.
We are heading to our hotel in Pamukkale, where we will recharge ourselves for the next day.
Day 3 ( Ephesus, Kusadasi )
We are checking out from our hotel after the breakfast, hopping on to our comfortable, air-conditioned coach and drive to the ancient city of Ephesus. Being one of the best preserved ancient cities, in Ephesus we may feel like that we are time-traveling to the ancient days. Walking along the marble streets and historical buildings like the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus and the Temple of Hadrian, we may find ourselves daydreaming about how to daily life used to be in ancient times. Then we are visiting the Grand Amphitheater of Ephesus where the worshipping ceremonies and famous gladiator fights would take place. We are having a delicious lunch along the way.
Later we are heading to the House of Virgin Mary where is said to be the place she spent her last days after Jesus’ Ascension to Heaven. After we are paying a visit to the Basilica of St. John. Last but not least; we will see and explore the Temple of Artemis, that is known as one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
We are heading to Kusadasi, where we will spend the night in a nice hotel.
Day 4: Departure Day
After a fulfilling and enlightening journey, we are checking out from our hotel after breakfast and hopping on to our comfortable and air-conditioned coach one last time for a return transfer to Izmir Airport or our hotel.
