Welcome to Istanbul
Our journey begins with us picking you from the airport to transfer you to your hotel in Istanbul with a comfortable, air-conditioned coach. Our professional guide is greeting you in a welcome reception and at the end of the day leaving you to recharge yourself before tomorrow’s journey.
Discover Colourful Istanbul
After the breakfast, we are hopping on our coach to dive into the most popular landmarks of Istanbul. First, we are exploring Ottoman legacy at the Topkapi Palace. On our route, we are stopping by at the Hippodrome, where the chariot races took place at Byzantine period. We are listening the stories of the historical obelisks and moving to our next stop Hagia Sophia. After visiting the exceptional Blue Mosque, we are heading to the Grand Bazaar to get lost in thousands of unique products. On this evening, our guests can attend to an optional dinner with Turkish folk and belly dancing.
Journey to Gallipoli and Canakkale
After checking out from our hotel, we are hitting the road to Canakkale to pay tribute to the brave souls who lost their lives at Gallipoli. Here, we will commemorate Turkish and Australian soldiers, who were martyrized during the bloody WWI. We will get to see Anzac Cove and the Dardanelles, and visit the cemeteries of Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair, the final resting place of many Allied soldiers. At the end of the day, we are being transferred to our hotel in Canakkale to spend the night.
Off to Troy, Pergamon and Izmir
After breakfast, we are checking out from our hotel and heading to the ancient city of Troy. Reliving the ancient story, we are following the footsteps of Achilles, Paris, Hector and Helen of Troy. We will see the replica of the legendary Wooden Horse the Greeks used to break their siege of this ancient city. Second stop of the day is the ancient city of Pergamon. Here, we will visit the ancient Asclepion Medical Centre. We are spending the night at our hotel in Izmir.
Explore the Ruins of Ephesus
On our 5th day, we are hitting the road again once more to explore the ancient city of Ephesus. We will have the chance to stroll through the ruins of the ancient Greek city, admire the amazingly intact façade of the Library of Celcus and the grand amphitheater. We will stop by at the House of Virgin Mary at Mt. Koressos, then spend the rest of the day at leisure. On the evening you may consider joining an optional dinner at a local restaurant in Izmir and try some of the local raki.
Onwards to Pamukkale
After the breakfast, we are checking out from the hotel. The next stop is the beautiful Pamukkale. Here, we will be bewitched by the amazing natural wonders, the travertine terraces. We will relax and enjoy the blissful thermal pools at your hotel before dinner.
Venture to Hierapolis and Antalya
On our second day in Pamukkale, we will admire the the bubbling pools and delicate white cascades of water of Pamukkale's Cotton Castle Springs. After, we will have the opportunity to discover the ancient city of Hierapolis. Later, we head to thescenic countryside and join the Yazir community in the Taurus Mountains, where we will get the chance to connect with locals and learn about their traditions at our Be My Guest lunch. Our stop for the next two nights is the Mediterranean retreat of Antalya. Here, we will enjoy some free time along the winding lanes of its old city and admire beautifully preserved Ottoman architecture. In the evening, we will have a Regional Dinner at a local restaurant.
Enjoy Ancient Perge
On our second day in Antalya, we will get to enjoy a free morning to soak up the enchanting seaside atmosphere of the Turkish Riviera, maybe embarking on an optional yacht cruise or relaxing at the hotel pool. In the afternoon, we travel to the Roman city of Perge to visit the impressive Antalya Archaeological Museum and see historical relics and artifacts, that are telling stories of hundreds years old. In our free evening, we can choose to find an inviting meyhane for some local chit chat and delicious flavors of kebab and baklava.
On the Road to Aspendos and Konya
On the 9th day, we are hitting the road once more to witness the world's best-preserved amphitheater of antiquity as our first stop in Aspendos. Next, we are continuing to Konya, where we will gain insights into the mystical Whirling Dervish performance. In the city of tolerance, we will try to understand the philosophy of the infamous Rumi and his followers in the Mevlana Museum and Mausoleum. We will head to the Karatay Tile Museum, a captivating landmark with its exquisite Seljuk-tiled dome. Before returning to our hotel where we will have dinner..
Continue to Cappadocia
After checking out from our hotel, we will see a well-preserved 13th-century caravanserai, where the travelers used to rest in their long journeys. Our next stop is the charming Cappadocia, that is well-known for its magical fairy chimneys. On our way, we are stopping by the underground city of Saratli on the ancient Silk Road. In the evening, we will indulge in the flavours of traditional pottery kebabs during a Regional Dinner at a local restaurant, before heading to our hotel with beautiful views of the surrounding fairy chimneys. Tonight we stay in a great hotel to get rest before tomorrow’s big adventure.
A Day to Explore Spectacular Göreme
We start to day off with a good breakfast before the big adventure. As our first stop, we will visit the Goreme Open-Air Museum to admire the extraordinary rock-carved churches and learn the history of these lands in depth from our professional guide. Afterwards, we will discover the art of pottery making in Avanos before dining in our hotel this evening.
Onwards to Ankara
As our journey comes to and end, we will have the chance to see youthful capital of Turkey Ankara. On 12th day, we will visit the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the final resting place of Ataturk, the founder and the first president of the modern Republic of Turkey. This evening we dine at our hotel in Ankara.
Return to Istanbul
We are returning to Istanbul in order to enjoy a free day to discover the mesmerizing city. We can visit the Basilica Cistern, practice our bargaining skills at the Spice Market or ascend Galata Tower for exquisite views of east and west. We can also attend to an optional cruise sailing along the the Bosphorus before meeting our tour guide and fellow companions for a memorable Farewell Dinner.
Our epic journey, that allowed us the explore the best places to visit in Turkey, comes to an end. We are heading to the airport to return our homes with a pocketful of great memories.
