Goreme: Home of Magical Fairy Chimneys

About Goreme

Goreme, home of the magnificent fairy chimneys, is one of the main touristic spots of Nevsehir and one of the first places that witnessed the spread of Christianity. People who settled in this area carved houses, churches, and schools to the rocks and when you are walking among them, they will disconnect you from current reality and take you back in time. Sort of… Even though we adore the amazing sunset view, our favorite has to be watching the sun rising from behind the glorious mountains on a hot-air balloon with the first daylight. We all got jealous when we first saw the little old man running away with thousands of balloons tied to his house’s roof in the great animation Up, that is no secret. Maybe we cannot manage this for now; but the closest thing to is probably buy ourselves a balloon trip to Goreme.
